Brendan is a CrossFit athlete that doesn’t like to judge a book by its cover. His journey has progressed from using the float tank simply as a tool for athletic recovery and visualization to using it as a tool to understand himself in a much deeper way. He provides some interesting insights on using floating to create new perspectives when dealing with challenging emotions and mental states and why he believes,  “Sometimes the hardest thing to do is walk in the door”.

“The float has made me understand more of the mental side of my life as opposed to just getting through things or pushing through things …”

What is Salty Confessionals: Personal Tales from the Float Tank?

Whether it’s everyday stress, debilitating anxiety, body soreness and chronic pain, sleeping issue  or just a way to explore creative ideas,  thoughts and inspirations, everyone has their own story of what first drew them to the Float Tank. What surprises those who stick with it is how the practice evolves and deepens over time to enrich their lives.

With Salty Confessionals, initially we simply wanted to create short video testimonials with some of our guests sharing their personal float experiences. It was important to us that these be authentic and capture the good, bad and unexpected as every float has something to teach us. What we ended up capturing provided much deeper insight into the power and possibilities that float tanks can provide and how we all use this unique tool for our own very personal reasons. Hope you enjoy.
